John Bowlby

Hi everyone !

Today I'm going to write about an expert in psychology,  John Bolwby and his contributions in psychology.
He was a British psychology, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst recognised for his job in attachment and personality of a child. His work was influenced for Sigmund Freud, the father of the psychoanalyst, because in his theory (attachment theory) reflect the power of the unconscious in personality of a child. The last thing, was studying by him with abandoned children, coming  to the conclusion that the personality of an individual is created in his first years and is fundamental a good attachment with her parents,  for don't have problem when the individual grow up.
In his book: Bonding: training, development and loss, shows us a introduction of his theory.  And also that book is important  because, attachment theory  is using for  clinical psychology , especially in child therapy, because is essential for understanding human interaction, especially the behaviour of an individual.
I found him when my psychology teacher, teaches us about him and his theory of the attachment  and i found it so interesting  if you like clinical psychology like me.

Well, that was a little presentation about an expert in personality and his contribution in the psychology.

Take care people :) !

  1. The attachment theory is very depressing, especially because I feel identified with this. It is terrible when you know that your life is determined by infancy. But the theory is very interesting. what kind of attachment you have?
